Have you ever felt like you were living a false reality? I know that I have, and still battle in this area. I think we sometimes have discord (noise), which we inadvertently identify with, but have no relation to.
Our concept of self as you know, partially comes from those around us, our parents, friends, spouse, etc ...
We become familiar with what people say and even think about us. Yes, you can sense what people think about you at times. Those views or impressions color the way we see ourselves too, but they are not usually accurate. This is a very shrewd and highly evolved practice that the enemy instigates.
We know that the battlefield is in our mind, but did you know that the enemy “tags or layers” word assignments against your mind?
I had a dream the other night and Creator woke me with this understanding. The enemy attaches a literal (and very specific) spirit to a word released against you, securing a greater level of "after effect" on your mind. It may look like a word of criticism coming from a close friend, which is poisoned with a “tag of shame."
You feel greatly affected by this word, though not sure why, on so many levels. This is the enemy layering a "mind bomb" if you will. It explodes when it hits you, then it’s like the gift that keeps on giving.
When Father was speaking to me about this, He said that we don’t often know the impact of being in agreement with His words over us. He made it very clear that we cannot measure the impact we carry when we agree with His word!
That doesn’t mean that we are unable to see the impact, but that we are unable to “measure” the greatness of the impact, when we are in agreement with His word!
2 Corinthians 10:5
We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, NASB
The “knowledge” of God begins in our minds and when infused into our being, also envelops our hearts. The knowledge of God is the “intimate” knowing of Him. That is, knowing Him intimately. This is the place where we are secure in His word for us. We know his heart for us. And Christ IS the word of life!
We are to take every thought, every assignment that comes against our “intimate” relationship with God, and take them captive to the WORD! The "obedience of Christ" is the obedience of THE LIVING WORD OF GOD! This is about staying in agreement with the words God has spoken over you, whether from a passage in the Bible or through prophetic utterance. Father has many words and many thoughts over and about your life.
Psalm 139:16-18
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.
David is speaking of God’s attention to us individually. Every time I read verse 17, I see that God’s vast thoughts are the thoughts He has of us! That He thinks of us all the time; and that His thoughts and plans for and about us, outnumber the grains of sand! They also outnumber and outweigh the strategy of the enemy.
Our job is to keep Father’s thoughts of us in mind, dispelling every attempt that is set against us to take ground on the battlefield of our minds. Father desires that you unplug from all false reality, and keep your mind centered on the vast passionate thoughts and loving plans He has for you!
